History of our
Provincetown Bed and Breakfast

The main house and carriage house of this cozy Provincetown bed and breakfast has a history dating back to the mid 1800s and like Provincetown and the Cape, has endured the test of time. The house “grew” during the late 1800s when what is believed to be second house from Eastham was added to the Arch Street side of the house. The carriage house has also gone through various forms of use ranging from a tool shed in the 1800s, a horse shed, carriage house, and more.

Over 25 years ago, the inn under a different name along with two other Ptown B&Bs, played a key role in the creation and then growth of the Provincetown Carnival parade and festivities.

After the extensive renovations were completed, we opened the doors of this new Provincetown bed and breakfast for the first time as the WHITE PORCH INN in April 2007. The goal was to create a balance and mix of old and new through restoring many of the great feature of the house while adding contemporary design, art, and amenities.
Our first year 2007 as well as the second season in 2008 were both a big success. You can get further details about some of the awards and reviews that we received in the » Awards and Reviews sections.

2009 is off to a great start and we look forward to welcoming you at the porch at the
WHITE PORCH INN.
