Directions to White Porch Inn


White Porch Inn is located at 7 Johnson Street in the heart of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Just a short walk from Commercial Street, the inn is conveniently situated near MacMillan Wharf, where ferries from Boston arrive daily in-season. It’s also less than a five-minute taxi ride from Provincetown Municipal Airport.

For those traveling by car, Provincetown is approximately 116 miles from Boston. The drive usually takes between two and a half to three hours, depending on traffic. From Boston, take I-93 South to MA-3 South, then merge onto US-6 East, which leads directly into Provincetown. Once in town, follow signs toward the town center and Bradford Street. Johnson Street is a small side street just off Bradford. Keep in mind that parking in Provincetown, especially during peak season, can be limited and often requires advanced planning.


If you’re arriving by air, Cape Air offers multiple daily flights between Boston Logan International Airport and Provincetown Municipal Airport. The flight takes about 30 minutes. As of spring 2025, Cape Air runs up to 11 flights per day on this route. Once you arrive, the inn is only a short taxi or rideshare ride from the airport.


For a scenic and efficient alternative during the warmer months, high-speed ferry service is available from Boston. Bay State Cruise Company departs from the World Trade Center and arrives at MacMillan Wharf in Provincetown. Their 2025 season runs from mid-May through mid-October, with extended weekend service into early December. Boston Harbor City Cruises, operated by City Experiences, also offers ferry service from Long Wharf in Boston to Provincetown. Their full summer schedule runs from early June through Labor Day, with limited service beginning in mid-May. Each ferry trip takes approximately 90 minutes.


Travelers flying into Logan Airport can take advantage of Boston’s water taxi service, which connects the airport with both Commonwealth Pier and Long Wharf, making ferry access quick and convenient.


Plymouth & Brockton Bus Lines operates service between Boston’s South Station and Hyannis. While there is currently no direct bus route to Provincetown, travelers can reach the Outer Cape by connecting through local services from Hyannis. Although it’s the slowest option, the bus can be a budget-friendly choice for those not in a hurry.


Once in Provincetown, getting around is easy. The town is highly walkable, and White Porch Inn is located within a short distance of restaurants, shops, galleries, and beaches. For destinations outside the town center, taxis, rideshare services, and bicycle rentals are widely available and convenient year-round.
